Some comfort food classics are healthier than you think. A great example of this is French onion soup. Although this soup can be high in calories, it’s very easy to make a healthy version that is just as tasty. This version of the soup is from Cooking Light magazine, and it is delicious and less than 300 calories. Some of the ingredients you’ll need are dry white wine, Swiss cheese, French bread, walla walla onions, and ovenproof bowls.  This nutritious version of French Onion soup has 17 grams of protein, 3 grams of fiber, 1.6 milligrams of iron and 317 milligrams of calcium.
