Tamales for Food Truck Friday The Tamale Spaceship

We know that Chipotle is a crowd pleaser at lunch time, but it is time to try something new. If you are living in or visiting the Chicago area, than it is time you have made a pit stop at The Tamale Spaceship. If there is anything us food lovers know it is that no one just likes Mexican food, they crave it. Well, The Tamale Spaceship is a food truck located in Chicago that is here to satisfy those cravings with its incredibly flavorful Tamales.

Luchadores Masks for Food Truck Friday The Tamale Spaceship

The Tamale Spaceship was founded by Manny Hernandez and Pepe Balanzar, two men who wanted to bring authentic Mexican cuisine to the streets of Chicago. Along with the rest of their crew, these food geniuses have created a menu filled with tamales that will make mouths water during lunch, and ask them to cater your next party. If you can’t spot the food truck (which is doubtful), look for the signature Luchadore masks that they may be wearing. The truck and food are inspired by luchadores, which are Mexican wrestlers, and the crew of The Tamale Spaceship has a bit of an obsession with the wrestlers and the masks.

The most interesting thing about The Tamale Spaceship is that it has a wine program that pairs tamales and wines together. It is unlike a food truck to be so gastronomically advanced, yet The Tamale Spaceship is all about classing up the Mexican food by bringing the right tamale and type of wine together. For example, did you know that pairing their No One’s Tamal de Pollo, which is filled with barbacoa-style roasted chicken with Michoacán green peanut mole, goes perfectly with New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc? Well, if you didn’t, then The Tamale Spaceship’s very own wine and food expert, Liz Martinez, could help you find a wine to compliment your tamale!

If this sounds like it could be the boost in your lunch hour you have ben looking for, than check out The Tamale Spaceship!
