Just because some of your favorite desserts may not be as healthy as you like, doesn’t mean that you have to skip dessert after your dinner. All you have to do is find a few alternatives to incorporate food such as fruits, yogurt or even chocolate and not feel guilty after eating a serving. Try out these desserts and see which one stands out to be claimed as your new favorite.
Favorite Guilt Free Desserts
Tofu Banana Chocolate Pudding
1 banana, broken into chunks
5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 (12 ounce) package soft silken tofu
3 tablespoons soy milk
1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 pinch ground cinnamon
Place all of the ingredients into a blender, cover and puree until smooth. Pour mixture into individual serving dishes and refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
Healthy and Yummy Almond Butter Fudge
Grilled Tropical Fruit Parfait
6 tablespoons toasted coconut
2 tablespoons honey
1 1/4 cup low-fat plain Greek yogurt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat the grill to high. Brush the mango and pineapple lightly with olive oil
Place the fruit on the grill and reduce the grill to medium high heat. Cook the fruit until the grill marks appear and the fruit has become slightly tender. This should be about 2 to 3 minutes per side and then remove from heat to cool.
Toast the coconut on a baking sheet at 350°F for 5 to 10 minutes until golden. Stir the coconut throughout the toasting time.
Mix together the honey and yogurt in a bowl. Cut the fruits into small chunks and mix them together in a large bowl. Serve the fruit topped with the yogurt dressing and sprinkle with cinnamon and coconut.
Baked Peach Halves
3 tablespoon dark brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
3/4 teaspoon grated lemon rind
3 fresh peaches, cut in half w/pit removed
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place peaches in a baking dish skin side down.
Combine brown sugar, ginger and lemon rind and sprinkle over the top of each peach half.
Bake peaches for 8 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
