Kourtney Kardashian gave birth yesterday to daughter Penelope Scotland Disick, her second child with Scott Disick. It’s only a matter of time before the celebrity gossip websites start to comment on the reality star’s post-baby appearance—will she lose the weight quickly and be praised for her impressive bounce-back? Will they chide her for not losing it quickly enough? Will she turn back to QuickTrim, despite the pending lawsuit against her and her sisters for “lying” about the weight loss supplement’s effectiveness? Ah, the perils of being a public figure.
For reasons I’ll never understand, these Kardashian sisters just keep making the tabloid headlines, and not just for their divorce drama. Kourtney’s sister Kim claimed to be gluten-free like Miley Cyrus, but her Twitter pics of Ramen noodles and strawberry shortcake didn’t escape the notice of The Examiner, who called her a gluten glutton.
Is it really that big of a deal to indulge every once in a while? If Kim (or Kourtney or Khloé or any of them) doesn’t follow a perfectly healthy diet all the time, it doesn’t mean she’s a glutton. It just means she’s human. Everyone slips up sometimes; just get yourself back on track and you’ll be fine.
Despite my defense of Kim, I still don’t really want to “keep up with the Kardashians.” I would say this is a pretty accurate summation of how I feel about her show:
