We LOVE What I Ate Wednesday, a weekly food diary “party” hosted by one of our favorite bloggers, Jenn of Peas and Crayons. What I Wish I Ate Wednesday is Healthy Way to Cook’s roundup of the best What I Ate Wednesday posts from the previous week.
Kaila of Healthy Helpershowed off a LOT of wonderful, healthy meals and snacks in her WIAW post last week (admittedly, I had to look up what kabocha was, which she featured in two of her dishes). In keeping with the fitness part of this month’s theme, Kaila linked to another post about a great podcast called Two Fit Chicks and a Microphone. She also wrote about the new foam roller she bought—apparently it’s quite an intense workout!
I LOVE Laura’s unique approach to this WIAW post on Laura Lives Life. She took pictures of her empty plates and containers and invited her readers to guess what she ate! As an added incentive, Laura offered a copy of The Long Runby Matt Long to whoever guessed the most foods correctly.
My heart melted when I read this post by Maria from Little Miss Cornucopia, who wrote about her son attending yoga with her for the first time. It’s so great to see families getting involved in fitness and healthy living together. I also liked how many natural, organic ingredients she included in her meals for the day.
Krysten of The Misadventures of a Darwinian Failis training for a marathon, and figured out through My Fitness Pal (my personal calorie-counting app of choice) that she wasn’t consuming enough calories for her more intense fitness routine. Thanks to Chobani Greek yogurt (yum!) and Magnum protein supplements, she’ll be much better prepared for her training. Best of luck, Krysten!
Three workouts in 24 hours? No problem for Kristin from Shore to Run. Staying organized and making sure she had everything she needed before she left for the day was her trick for fitting it all in. She even planned ahead and packed a healthy breakfast, lunch and snacks with tons of fruits and veggies.

“Food, Fun & Fitness” tip: Outdoor workouts are one of the best things about warm weather. What’s not so fun is the potential for sunburn. Make sure you’re wearing sunscreen with a minimum SPF 15 (30 is even better) before you head outside. Forgot your sunscreen? Try these tips from Bite Size Wellness for fast DIY sunburn relief.
